Our friends at Reform Social & Grill have curated a new Yorkshire Pudding based British menu for all of February, which they describe as ’embracing Britishness’.

Reform is a very British restaurant, and thus have introduced a very British range of oversized Yorkshire pudding treats – with options both savoury and sweet available all throughout February. This is Reform’s answer to a slider platter in the most British way possible!

Their savoury offerings feature a variety of salt beef, hot smoked salmon and British Tunsworth cheese and truffle. The sweet treats range from chocolate and caramel yorkie to banana and custard Yorkshire puddings.

FeastHQ promise to deliver great food to your door between 11pm and 5am. Their premise is that for a 24 hour city so many things close down at 11pm, meaning there’s not much choice for the many night owls who continue to operate in various forms through the night.

Optegra Eye Hospitals has launched a new flagship location in Marylebone’s prestigious Harley Street area.

Thanks to a £13million investment, the new state of the art hospital will deal with the A-Z of eyecare and patients’ needs are at the heart of the designs.

Amy Richardson, Hospital Director for the new Optegra Eye Hospital London, said:  “Our brief was very much to create a stunning environment once people step through our doors, capturing the high quality of our service through the optimum standards of design, materials and experience. We appreciate that patients can be nervous and sometimes frightened about eye surgery, so we have created a calming, relaxed space.”

Optegra Eye Hospital London is located on Queen Anne Street and the hospital opens to the public on 14th December.

AB InBev, the world’s largest brewer with a 25 percent global market share, and Deliveroo, the premium restaurant delivery service, have teamed up to create ‘The Beer Store’.

Deliveroo will aim to deliver chilled beer to your doorstep in central London within 15 minutes (certain areas apply but Marylebone is one of them) which will run throughout December.

To emphasise the importance of beer over the Christmas period, AB InBev revealed that:

  • Half of Brits (50%) are planning to serve beer to their guests on Christmas Day
  • Three-quarters (76%) are planning to serve beer at some point over the festive period

In addition, Will Shu, co-founder and CEO of Deliveroo, says: “We’ve seen incredible demand for top-quality food delivered to homes and offices, and think beer is a natural extension of our service. With the rise in popularity of online beer sales this Christmas, we feel this is the perfect time to launch this new project.”

To place your Christmas beer orders from ‘The Beer Store’, go to https://deliveroo.co.uk and visit The Beer Store.

*‘The Beer Store is open daily between 4pm and 10pm and available to over 18s only and in certain London locations**

Marylebone based card designer Helen Batra-Squires has designed a unique Christmas card for UK-wide children’s charity Action Medical Research.

Helen, owner of Hels Bells boutique design agency, has created the Christmas card especially for the charity which will receive all proceeds from sales. Artists, printers and envelope makers alike have teamed up in order to ensure Action Medical Research receive every penny from every card sold.

Lynn Tait, a gallery and greeting card business owner from Leigh-on-Sea, came up with the idea and is a long-standing supporter of the children’s charity, last year she helping raise £13,500.

Action Medical Research is selling 16 unique designs for £3.50 for a pack of five at action.org.uk/christmas-cards and postage is free if you order three or more packs – customers are urged to order before the deadline of 18th December!

Action Medical Research has played a role in medical breakthroughs for over 60 years from polio vaccines to ultrasound in pregnancy and is currently funding research on meningitis, Downs syndrome, epilepsy and premature birth.

Marylebone buzzes with a wonderful Christmas atmosphere at this time of year – yet its unique village character means that there are also plenty of places to go to find peace and quiet.

Miisa Mink from Nordic Bakery shares her favourite places to shop and where she goes to find tranquillity in Marylebone.

Where I go for a quiet moment:

  1. Nordic Bakery, Dorset Street – for coffee and a smoked salmon sandwich on dark rye
  2. Atlas Gallery – to be inspired
  3. Regents Park – to breathe deeply and appreciate nature
  4. Daunt Books – to find solace and read
  5. Texture restaurant – to relax and enjoy a Scandinavian meal with friends

Where I like to shop:

  1. Jane Packer – it’s right next door to Nordic Bakery’s New Cavendish coffee shop and I go there for the beautiful flowers
  2. Mouki Mou – for beautiful Scandinavian brass bowls from Skultana
  3. Skandium  – for Klaus Haapniemi’s ‘Tanssi’ runner and Christmas decorations
  4. La Fromagerie – for the wonder selection of cheeses
  5. Marylebone Farmer’s Market (on Sunday) or the Cabbages and Frocks Market (on Saturday) for seasonal food and handmade gifts
