Drink in the Christmas Spirit

The cocktail scene Marylebone is thriving, with an increasing amount of creative and inspiring concoctions to try. There’s no better time to experiment and tempt your taste buds than celebrating with some festive spirit!

If you’re looking to venture away from the classic cosmopolitan or mojito, head to Purl on Blandford Street for a quirky cocktail list guaranteeing a sensory overload. Drinks change with the seasons but promise to excite and delight using food, smoke & foam amongst other ingredients. If you’re feeling brave you could indulge in a class where an expert mixologist will teach you how to create marvelous concoctions. Their festive dinner menus ‘The Scrooge’, ‘The Nutcracker’ and ‘The Stocking Stuffer’ are set to complete your evening in true festive style.

The Terrace at The Churchill Bar at the Hyatt Regency Churchill Hotel has been transformed into an inviting authentic Alpine scene with fur-lined seats, pine trees and old wooden skis. They have created an inventive cocktail list, revised for the season using Green & Black’s appealing flavor and mixed with spices. A life-size bronze statue of Sir Winston Churchill joins you on the terrace meanwhile the stylish luxe design inside reflects his life in the form of photography and art. No need to worry if the air is a little chilly on the evening you visit as they even supply blankets and hot water bottles!

A visit to the Artesian Bar at the Langham Hotel cannot be missed from our list. The gorgeous chic décor (by late David Collins) and extensive (annually changing) cocktail menu leave no doubt to why this bar has been awarded ‘World’s Best Cocktail Bar’ thrice over. Whether you choose a classic Langham Martini or select from the seasonal ‘Unfolding and Exploring’ concoctions – ‘Easy Money’ or ‘Love and Death’ to name a few, the excellent attentive bar staff will serve with flair and a smile.

Selfridges winter ‘alpine style’ Le Chalet is the ultimate festive creation from Des McDonald. Indulge in the unique hot chocolate cocktail bar or enjoy mulled wine on the log cabin porch on the terrace, which will certainly get you in the festive spirit. Post drinks; enjoy the wintry BBQ menu in the gorgeous candlelit atmosphere overlooking our wonderful city. Just don’t forget to admire the infamous Christmas window displays on your way home….

So dress up and get festive and you’ll have Christmas all wrapped up!
