London Fashion Week is in full swing, so to celebrate ‘Love Your Clothes’ along with Barnardos and Charity Fashion Live are holding free workshops so savvy Londoners can learn how to stay on top of the latest trends whilst sticking to a budget.
‘Love your clothes’ are experts in up-cycling and the customisation of clothes. They’re experts in making fashion more sustainable and aiming to get rid of ‘fast fashion’. UK consumers spend £44 billion per year on clothes, whilst a third of our clothes haven’t been worn in the last year, so sustainability is fast becoming a hot-topic in the fashion sphere.
The workshops are drop-in events that will show attendees tips and tricks when it comes to sewing and customisation. The aim is to show how easy sustainable fashion can be.
The first of the three workshops will be held in Marylebone’s Barnados store on the 25th of February. It will focus on how to be audacious with clothes. Expect to learn how to make make bows, pom-poms and using vintage haberdashery to customise your clothes. With over 30 stores in London, all Londoners have the opportunity to go to their local Barnardos and get a bargain whilst helping make a difference.
Workshops will also be held on the 4th March in Brixton and the 11th of March in Crouch End.
