Luxury piano-maker Steinway & Sons are bringing two of the world’s rarest pianos to Marylebone for a series of free pop-up concerts in celebration of the company’s 160th anniversary.
The two limited edition pianos, one black and one macassar ebony Arabesque Edition, were created in collaboration with renowned furniture designer Dakota Jackson in order to mark the anniversary. They will be played together in a one-off weeklong series of events at Sheridan&Co’s pop-up retail space, The Study, on Blandford Street. The programme of events will include recitals from a range of musicians including the experienced conductor of hit West End musicals, Dominic Ferris, as well as limited-capacity, free daily concerts at 1pm.
Craig Terry, managing director of Steinway & Sons UK said of the choice of venue, “The pop-up performance space gives members of the public a once in a lifetime chance to see these incredible instruments close-up.”
For anyone with an appreciation of piano music or the instrument itself, this is a unique opportunity not to be missed!
