A Warm Evening for the Portman Village Wimbledon Tennis Street Party

The Portman Village picked quite the night for their Wimbledon themed street party. Not only was it sunny, but Andy Murray managed to eek out a win in a five set thriller. With everyone glued to the big screen on Seymour Place or the packed Grazing Goat, the street party only reached full swing once Tim (Andy) had completed the big comeback!

In aid of St John’s Hospice and Nomads the party reflected the community spirit with activities geared to all ages. A particular highlight had to be the mini tennis court complete with umpire. Urged on by commentary Seymour Place was graced with tennis far superior to that of Murray’s first two sets.

With face painting and fashion boutiques passing partygoers were styled and manicured for the party.

Live bands gave the event a vibrant atmosphere, one band even came on stilts!

A real success, as I left at 9.30pm the party was still in full swing!
