This weekend sees the return of MADE London. The design and craft fair is being held at One Marylebone and is bigger and better than last year’s inaugural event. Built off the back of the success of the Brighton Art Fair, artist and printmaker Sarah Young and administrator Jon Tutton felt it was time that a similar event was brought to the capital.
Setup with the aim of showcasing the highest quality of contemporary craft and design from around England, it is an opportunity to engage directly with the artists and to purchase some unique creations. This year sees an even wider range of exhibitors with anything from clock makers to furniture designers.
A particularly fascinating piece that is being run again this year is the Dialogue Wall. Full of jewellery, it explores our perception of what makes a piece of jewellery valuable. If it is anything like last year’s event it is going to be a great success – last year 5,500 people visited.
