Marylebone Cocktail Competition – Round 3


Cocktail MaryleboneThe much anticipated third round of the Babicka Vodka Marylebone Cocktail Competition – titled ‘A Witches Brew in Marylebone’ – took place on Wednesday night (4th September) at Cocochan restaurant and bar in James Street.

The last two rounds have seen an incredible amount of talent behind the bar, with Babicka Vodka based long and short cocktails being prepared by barmen from some of Marylebone’s finest bars and restaurants. The winner of the first round was Andre of Reform Bar & Grill, whilst James from Hardy’s Brasserie was crowned winner of round two.

After a last minute drop out, last night saw the following two competitors get shaking and straining in order to impress the judges:

Carbon Bar at The Cumberland

Carbon Bar is also located just off Oxford Street (the Marble Arch end) and is part of The Cumberland Hotel. With a range of live DJ and promotions, Carbon is also a popular destination for watching live sports.

The Larrik

The Larrik is a gastro food pub in Marylebone that has featured in the Michelin Guide, specialising in serving food with fresh British produce whilst being extremely popular with the after work crowd.

The winner of this round was Marcos from The Larrik, who impressed the judges with both his long and short cocktail creations. Here are the recipes for his two cocktails:

Long: 35ml Babicka Vodka, 15ml St Germain, 25ml rose liqueur, rose petals, cucumber, soda.
Short: 50ml Babicka Vodka infused with green tea, 15ml ginger, chilli gomme, squeeze of lemon.
