Marylebone’s buildings throw open their doors to the public

opencityThis weekend as part of the Open House event, some of Marylebone’s buildings will be opening their doors to the public. As part of over 830 buildings across the capital some of Marylebone’s most famous and recognisable buildings will be allowing us all to visit.

The event was set up in 1992 to promote awareness and appreciation of the capital’s architecture. It aims to engage with the public and change public perception of open spaces and architecture.

Combining both old and new, the event is focused on celebrating the capital’s most interesting pieces of architecture. On the list for the weekend in Marylebone are the following;

  • Wigmore Hall
  • RIBA
  • The Royal Academy of Music
  • 55 Baker Street
  • The Oriental Club
  • Home House
  • Rudolf Steiner House
  • St Marylebone CE School Performing Arts Centre
  • Chandos House – Royal Society of Medicine
  • Embassy of Belgium
  • University of Westminster
  • Hopkins’s Architects Offices

Take a look at the list of events and days that each building is open. There are other buildings open across the capital but for us Marylebone has by far the best selection!
