New ‘Marylebone Residents’ Party running in by-election

Yael Saunders Marylebone Election

Marylebone Residents’ candidate Yael Saunders.

A new party has been formed for the upcoming Marylebone High Street Ward by-election.

Called ‘Marylebone Residents’, the new party is looking to separate itself from other national parties by focusing only on local issues and distancing itself from national politics. It claims ‘all the other parties have national agendas based on national politics.’

The Marylebone Residents’ candidate is Yael Saunders, who has lived in Marylebone with her husband since 1999. Currently a resident of Marylebone’s Luxborough Street, Yael Saunders is self-employed in the property management industry. Along with being a resident of Marylebone, Saunders has also been Chair of the Marylebone High Street Police Safer Neighbourhoods Panel since October 2011.

Saunders said of her campaign,

“For me ‘building a stronger community’ isn’t a party line on a leaflet, it is what we actually do.”

The by-election will take place on 2nd May 2013.
