When you think of the great British Sunday roast, it’s fair to say Marylebone doesn’t offer an abundance of options that spring to mind.
The Reform Social & Grill at The Mandeville Hotel on Mandeville Place (the bottom of Marylebone High Street) have recently launched a new Sunday Roast that adds to their classic British gentleman’s club inspired menu, at last providing Marylebone with that Sunday lunch option that everybody loves.
We popped into Reform Social & Grill last Sunday to check out their latest offering. Seated in a warm and cosy red leather booth, the friendly waiting staff presented us with menus featuring a range of classic British dishes that included fish & chips, buffalo pie and roast pork belly. Naturally, however, the Roast Aged Topside of Beef was the only option for us both.
To start our meal we decided to share a Baked English Goat’s Cheese Salad – a well presented salad with a truffle & honey dressing that made us feel as though Spring had truly arrived, despite the weather outside.
The Roast Beef itself came next – alongside a healthy sized serving of everything else you would expect – carrots, parsnips, crunchy roast potatoes, cabbage, cauliflower and of course – what roast is complete without a Yorkshire pudding? Cooked to medium, the roast beef was succulent and full of favour.
Alongside a bottle of Prosecco that we split between us (and almost definitely didn’t need given that it was 1pm on a Sunday and we both had work to do), our experience at Reform Social & Grill was first class – we’d certainly recommend it for those looking for that Marylebone Sunday Roast. Prices start at £14 for one course, or choose 3 courses and get 2 hours of free flow Prosecco.
