From 28th-30th March, Asia House’s London headquarters on New Cavendish St will become a dazzling bazaar offering the best in arts, design and handcraftsmanship from all over Asia. The three-day shopping experience will include over 30 exhibitors selling a wide variety of jewellery, textiles, arts and crafts from or inspired by Asia.
There will be late-night shopping on Friday 28th March and traditional Asian Music to entertain the shoppers while they browse the stalls and enjoy a drink from the bar from 5:30pm onwards.
On Sunday 30th March, shoppers are encouraged to bring their mothers along for a unique Mother’s Day treat of tea tasting from 2:45pm. Chinalife, which specialises in loose-leaf teas and herbal health products, will give a free talk on the health benefits of tea during the tasting.
Each stall tells its own unique story. Sjo sells original crafts handmade by marginalised female artisans from villages in southeast Pakistan. Joss Graham specialises in traditional textiles and costumes, but also paintings, sculpture, ceramics, baskets and jewellery from India, Central Asia and Tibet. Exhibitors will also be displaying vintage kimonos from Japan, clothes, handicrafts and accessories from small producers in Kazakhstan, traditional Uzbek and Turkomen robes, Suzani embroideries, scarves from Kutch in Gujarat, Fairtrade crafts from the Philippines, home accents from Kashmir, jewellery from Thailand and more.
A great opportunity to pick up a unique Mother’s Day gift!
