Waitrose unveiled its newest little Waitrose store on Baker Street this week, adding to its growing number of stores in the City of Westminster.
The convenience store will stock all of the usual essentials, and provide a convenient resource for local residents. The new opening is also set to generate around 100 jobs and help boost local employment. All employees will be part of the John Lewis Partnership offering a range of benefits that subsequently ensure a proportion of company profits are kept in the local area.
The store will also service the large quantity of business employees in the area, Councillor Karen Scarborough adding that the “highly regarded food retailer” would be “welcomed” by both local employees and residents.
The new store manager of Waitrose Portman Square, Steve Roome explained that Waitrose now employs more than 1,000 people across Westminster.
